Because of the open ended nature of the Jplug framework it is possible to create plugins that perform any function you can think of. However the best ideas might be to start with something simple like PAR2 or UnRAR. The built in JigSaw PAR and UnRAR methods can easily be overriden. The same is true with the join and split however there are restrictions to overriding those methods and getting certified with such a plugin would be very difficult.
